Kannada actor Yash became a national start with the film KGF. With a single film called KGF, Yash created a sensation all over the country. From being the son of an RTC bus driver to a loved hero with national craze, Yash's journey to stardom has been tremendous. He has been interested in movies since childhood. Yash, who used to do small plays, has become a superstar today and his journey up the hill is something everyone should know.
Born on 08 January, 1986 to Arun Kumar and Pushpa, Yash's real name is Naveen Kumar Gowda. He was born in Bhuvanahalli, a village in Hassan district of Karnataka. Yash's father was an RTC bus driver. Yash has a younger sister named Nandini. Yash went to the Mahajana High School in Mysore. His interest in drama started from his school days. His interest made him join 'Benaka Drama Troupe ' found by the famous playwright Bivikaran. He completed his intermediate while also acting in plays and dramas on the side.
Serial director Ashok Kashyap saw one of Yash's plays and gave him a chance to act in his serial titled 'Nanda Gokula'. The serial was telecast on ETV Kannada. At the same time, Yash got another chance to act in the serial 'Uttarayana' which was aired on Uday TV. This serial had Roja playing a key role. Both the serials were telecast in 2004. After that, Yash was seen in a row of serials and plays.
Yash, who was ruling on TV with serials, also started trying for films. This was how he landed his first film Zambadabudigi. Yash played a small character role in the film. The film came out in 2008 and became a super hit. Yash got acquainted with Radhika Pandit who played the heroine in this movie.
With the movie Moggina Manasu becoming a hit, director Nagendra made the movie 'Rocky' and cast Yash as the hero. The film was a blockbuster hit in 2008. After Rocky, Yash never had to look back as a hero. After Rocky, films like Kallara Santhe and Gokula also played well and Yash started gaining fan following in Kannada.
With his first film in 2010 turning out to be a massive hit and a superstar opening, Yash joined the list of star heroes. But the subsequent Rajdhani film did not play well. In the same year, Yash's film Kirataka played well but Lucky Janu and Cinema flopped.
However, the film 'Drama' gave a super-duper hit to Yash, who was waiting to get back with a solid hit. The film was produced at a cost of Rs 4 crore and collected almost Rs 20 crore after its release. This is the second time that Yash and Radhika Pandit have acted together in this film. The love between the two started with this movie.
The 2013 film Googlie was also a blockbuster hit. The film also grossed over Rs. 30 crore. The film is one of the highest grossing Kannada movies.
Later, Yash's films Rajpuli and Gajakesari also became super hits. The 2014 film Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari gave him another blockbuster. The film grossed Rs 3 crore on its opening day. The film which was released at the same time as Aamir Khan's PK, garnered huge collections in Bangalore and crossed the collections of PK in Bangalore.
The film has made history in the Kannada industry by collecting a total of 50 crores. This is the highest budget film he has acted in till then. Radhika Pandit has acted with Yash for the third time in this film. Radhika and Yash decided to get married during the shooting of the film.
The film Santu Straight Forward went on floors in 2016. Yash and Radhika got engaged in Goa while the film was being shot. The film was also a super hit.

Although Yash had a huge craze in Kannada before the release of this movie, Yash became a known name and gained popularity in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. Yash continues to be the highest-paid hero in Kannada at present.
Yash and Radhika Pandit got married on December 9, 2016 in Bangalore. They have two children, son Yatharv and daughter Arya. Even after Yash got so much craze, his father is still working as a driver in RTC.
In 2017, Yash and Radhika Pandit co-founded the Yasho Marga Foundation. Through this foundation, they have contributed to solve the water problem in Koppal area of Karnataka by building rivers on a budget of Rs 4 crores.
Yash won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for his 2009 film Moggina Manasu. Also in 2015, he won the second Filmfare Award for Best Actor for Mr. and Mrs. Sramachari. In 2018, KGF won the Filmfare and SIIMA Awards for Best Actor.
